User Cancellation Fees
Time portion of fees.
Calculated dynamically based on car you have booked, the time of booking
and time of cancellation.
Improper Return Fees
The car has been returned improperly (i.e. parked in a wrong place,
returned at the wrong time, etc).
Improperly Ending or Forgetting to End Trip
The use has either ended the trip improperly or has forgotten to do so
through the app. ShiftRide may make adjustments to your booking at this added fee.
$16 OR $2.00/hour ($48/day) from time of vehicle return to time of
adjustment made, whichever is greater.
Improper Use Fees
The car has been driven outside of booking period by the user and/or the
security device has been tampered with by the user.
$50 + cost of the trip taken outside of booking period
Misplacement of the key
The car keys are not properly left in the lockbox after the usage
The returned car is dirty, with spills, and/or with garbage left behind.
$25-$150 depending on the incident
Trip Photos Not Sent
The trip had no before and/or after trip photos sent to ShiftRide's
suppor team at the time of booking/returning.
Improper Fuelling Fees
The returned car has less than a full tank of gas.
$8 + $1.50/L for missing gas and/or entire fuel tank of vehicle OR $8 +
$0.20/km driven during trip, whiever is higher
Improper Fuel Type Fees
The wrong type of fuel has been used to fuel the vehicle than the fuel
type mentioned in the app.
$25 + Any and all repair costs incurred to the car
Sticker Replacement Fees
The returned car is returned without ShiftRide stickers attached.
Parking Tag Replacement Fees
The returned car is missing a parking tag.
$25 + Cost of replacing parking tag
Lost/Damage Key Fees
In the case of loss or damages to the car keys, the user is solely
responsible for replacement and service costs.
$25 + Key replacement and service cost (price depends on the car).
Improper Use of Lockbox Fees
In the case of using the lockbox improperly when returning keys (i.e.
not scrambling the unlock code, leaving it open, etc).
Device Misplacements and/or Damage Fees
Loss and/or damaging of the ShiftRide BOX device.
Lockbox Misplacement and/or Damage Fees
Loss and/or damaging of the ShiftRide Lockbox.
Toll Road Fees
Users are responsible for all Toll Road Fees incurred during their trip.
$15 administrative fee + Cost of all Toll Road Fees incurred during
their trip. The user must notify ShiftRide team at firstname.lastname@example.org
after the trip.
Users are responsible for all the tickets and violations during, or as a
result of, their trip.
Cost of all the tickets and violations during their trip. The user
should pay and send the receipt to email@example.com

administrative fees will be charged on top of the ticket price.
Towing & Car Retrieval Fees
Users are solely responsible for all the towing and impounding fees
during or after the car usage period.
Cost of all the towing and impounding fees during or after the car usage
period plus applicable administrative fees.
Roadside Assistance Fees
In the case of any roadside event as a result of a “Terms of Services”
violation, the user is responsible for extra charges and administrative fees.
Cost of all the extra charges and applicable administrative fees.
Violating the Car Owner’s Policy
Violation of owner’s policy (i.e. smoking in a car, bringing a pet in
the car) can result in a fine for the offending member.
Late Return Fees
If the user returns the car later than the specified return date by the
$50 + $30/hour (prorated by each minute) from the scheduled availibility
time of vehicle until when the vehcile is properly returned.
Failed Payment Fees
When a user’s method of payment is declined. A failed payment fee will
be added to the payment within the first 3 hours of the payment failing.
Late Payment Fees
If the user’s method of payment is declined and we are not able to
collect the full amount for the outstanding balance. A late fee will be added to the
payment right away and accumulate over time until full balance is paid by user.
20% of total outstanding balance + $25/day until full balance due is
paid by user.
If the user’s method of payment is declined and ShiftRide is not able to
collect their balance in full, the invoice and user's information will be sent to a
third-party collections agency as soon as 21 days of the payment getting declined,
or earlier. Fees
will be applied.
40% of the total outstanding balance
The user allows an unauthorized driver to drive a ShiftRide car.
Insurance Deductible Fees
If the user is involved in an at-fault accidents and/or has caused
damages, scratches, thefts, etc.
If the user has not followed the “Terms of Services”, they are
responsible for the total amount of damage caused.
